Boid's_characterRig

This is Boid's rig. I haven't done the the Facial the rig as of yet. And if you noticed he doesn't have his prosthetic leg(s). There was a time I was indecisive of the prosthetic legs because my teacher was trying to persuade me form it. So I'll have to add them into the character model. But I just wanted to show that this rig is more sophisticated that the one I used for the bear. This model's rig has an IK skeleton, and FK skeleton and a bind skeleton.

This is my production schedule for my next animation, it's based off the one we use at Sheridan College.
I should of changed the title form Computer animation to the name of my film though-- that was a lack of foresight.

And here is Boyd in full colour. I was going to give him two prosthetic legs but I already modelled, UV mapped and painted the weights on regular legs. And I don't really want to go back and change both of them.
I'm still deciding on the graphic on Boyd's shirt. milk.

MainCharacter_turnaround

This is my three legged dog JD, the main character of my film. I know I haven't posted in awhile but it was hard to remember to post my progress on my blog when I was trying to meet my deadline at Sheridan. My design package has been done now for quite some time. So I'll now be just posting weekly as I make adjustments and begin the preproduction of my next short.

With that aside...meet JD!
JD, aka JustDog, is a (slightly) overweight three legged. She's 5 years old and has one single tooth-- a snaggled tooth.

CharacterTurnaround

So I know I haven't posted in a while but this what I have been working on recently. This is my character for my upcoming 1:00 min film. He is actually the secondary character in my film but I had him conceived in my mind first. I'm currently debating whether to give him prosthetic legs, which was my original  idea before some unforeseen circumstances arise (I tell you more about in later though).

So these were my finished assests. The Rig was suppose to be simple but the stomach gear made things a bit more troublesome. There are two lattices holding everything together, though it may look like one.
And the Bear model was modeled completely in Maya and made very low poly. So I learnt I had to up the subdivisions because I didn't have enough edge loop to paint weights.

Interstitial_Storyboard

This is my storyboard, it's really short. Just a ten second animation since I'm using these programs for the first time and there is a lot to learn. While this short is currently in production I have a longer film in it's pre-visualization stage right now. More to come.

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post. Hopefully I can keep this up. I'm excited to start this blog and document my process. I'm always working on some project. My art projects are my passion and my life. And I work on things across the border, as you'll come to learn. Although this blog will be for mostly aniamtion.

I'm currently learning Nuke, Maya, Mudbox, and Zbrush at Sheridan College Computer Animation program. I'm learning to become a CG generalist, and I hope to eventually merge animation into my fine fine art practice.

Above is screen shot of a UV mapping on a 3D model I created in Maya. This is for a small 10 sec. short.
I'm mapping UV so I can bring the model into Mudbox and sculpt and smooth out the details.
